Imagining North Adams

is a festival of images, ideas, and initiatives with a placemaking mission. Through artwork and participatory events, the festival invites participants to consider ways to turn our dreams for the city into concrete action.

Ways to Participate

"Imagining North Adams" is an open festival of exhibits and events. There is no charge to participate. We offer a variety of ways that you can join us, whether you're just curious or you're interested in helping to make the festival happen.

Stop by

Our downtown gallery is easy to find and will be open throughout the festival! Get hours and directions.

Volunteer to staff a gallery or event

Have a few hours to donate? We would be glad to hear from you. No special knowledge is required - just your interest. Contact our Associate Gallery Manager.

Write a briefing

Tell the world about a corner of the city that you would like to see improved. By making these wishes public, we can help connect you with others who share your vision. With enough momentum, we might even be able to recruit experienced placemakers who can coach you in developing an action plan to bring your vision to life.

Organize a project

The festival's Project Lodge offers the opportunity for individuals and groups to organize projects and events that are related to the festival's theme. Read more about the Project Lodge and contact our Curator.

Give a presentation on a "Pecha Kucha Night"

If you have a vision of North Adams, share it with the world in six minutes and forty seconds! Read more about the festival's Pecha Kucha Nights.

Keep up with the news

We will be sharing the latest festival news and events with the world via our news journal, mailing list, Facebook, Twitter, and the local press. Visit our Follow Us page for a complete list of ways to connect.

Spread the word

We love word of mouth! Visit our Spread the Word page for ways to tell your friends and contacts about all the great opportunities we have in store.
